Try-it Registration

TRY-IT

Come try dock jumping in a stress free environment with some of our club members. These sessions are intended for dogs that have never been on a dock before.

2023 Try-it dates: June 10th, July 8th, August 12th and September 9th

Our team will hold a demonstration, followed by a hands-on practice session for participants. All of our sessions have been a huge success for both the dogs and their handlers, as well as the fans that cheer on the dogs.

We are HANDS ON……which means our volunteers will be handling and touching your dogs. If your dog does not like to be touched by strangers or is reactive, these sessions may not be for you, or we may need to use a muzzle for the safety of our staff.

$40.00 for each dog with a maximum of 8 dogs
Payment due at time of registration. Refunds given for cancellations with at least 24 hours notice. We usually have a wait list, so we ask that if you need to cancel, you let us know as soon as possible.

No electronic or prong collars are allowed on the dock. A well fitting flat collar will allow for easy and safe working with your dog on the dock and in the pool.

FAQ

We've never been to a dog pool before. What should we bring with us?

Your dog’s favorite water safe, floating toy: tennis ball, frisbee, rubber bumper, water bowl, towels, clothes you don’t mind getting wet, sunblock, folding chair(s), Shade! (canopy tent, umbrella, etc)

Generally speaking, the answer is no. Our volunteers will be the ones in the pool with your pup, but you will be on the dock, and the ramp encouraging your dog.

Please bring your dogs favorite water toy with you. Dogs have different likes, and motivators, so try and pick your dogs favorite! We do NOT allow food in the pool.

Maybe. Please be aware that this is a hands on program. Our club staff will need to interact with/handle your dog. Our staff will evaluate your dogs temperment and will proceed appropriately. If we do not feel safe we will kindly let you know .

No. This program is intended for dogs that have not gone off the dock before. If your dog has made it off the dock, then WOO HOO !!! You’re ready to compete. If you don’t feel ready for competitions yet, we ask that you join our club, participate in the open dock sessions and ask questions. Please save these sessions for dogs that haven’t jumped off the big dock.

Is there anything else we should do to prepare for the Try-it program?
